This piece is inspired by an optimistic relationship. It tells a story on how two strangers, start to grow feelings for each other. At first, the feelings were vague and cloudy, but in the end, a love confession was made to clear up their doubts. From there, the future seemed brighter for the both of them. This song’s purpose is to deliver the message that true love does exist, and so one should never stop fighting for love.

This song is unique as it can express different emotions. When the song is slowed down, it’ll resonate a more depressed tone and feeling, but when the song is sped up, it’ll sound more jolly. During the lyric-writing process, I created complications in the couple which may end their relationship. However, I decided to include hope and honesty between the lovers. Despite the lyric change, the melody stayed the same and so might still feel depressing when being slowed down.

Altogether, I had 2 recording sessions. One to create the background music and one for vocals. In this recording, I used condenser microphones for my vocals/acoustic guitar and I used a keyboard to generate electric pop sounds in Cakewalk Bandlab. I created the stutter effects by duplicating the main vocals and panned it left and right. I also included the phone voice in the bridge to create contrast in timbre. In the end of my recording session, I corrected some of my vocals so that it’s in the right pitch and I edited the tracks so that they would sound more balanced. Overall, I learnt that the tempo and lyrics of a song is very powerful, making the gloomy impression of Eb major into something more lively.
