I created this piece for my music project with the goal of learning how to be able to use programs to create an original piece. I used “Reason” program to create this piece as it is readily available in school and the teacher taught us how to use it step by step. This is my first piece that I created and I think I have successfully implemented the right steps to create this piece. I got inspired by the Electronic Dance Music which is currently happening in my country Indonesia.

I started with a chord progression in mind and developed it from there by combining instruments in the program. The chord progression I used throughout the song is Am - C - G - F. Those chords are interesting as it is able to be used with the instruments to build up the piece to reach its climax. Instruments used are strings, xylophone, drums, fx effects, bass, electric piano and laser effects. The melody controlled by different instruments in this piece. At the intro, it is controlled by the xylophone. In the chorus, it is controlled by the effects and electric piano.

I have learned the basics of creating a piece using technology and I will use the skills that I have gained to create a more advanced piece next. As this is my first piece, I am proud of it as I have no prior experience in using technology in creating a piece. It sounded like a good Electronic Dance Music piece that can create good vibes for parties.
