I got inspired to create this second piece as I wanted to try something different. I created a solo piano because I needed to do something different. So, this is a solo Piano composition that is much different than what I did last time which is composition using music technology. I started to create the draft at first. However, I faced some challenges along the way such as recording it live. I made a few errors and had to re-do my composition. I took about a month on planning out the whole song. It took me a while to structure as I was confused at first what my song would like to be.
I started creating the chord progression after I heard some examples from YouTube that inspires me and decided to learn from them. I started recording the intro first and then moved on throughout the whole songs. There were a lot of changes from the start till the end as I need ro adjust the structure and time. This piece is my first solo piano composition that I recorded during music class time. The title of this song is inspired by the background sounds of waves which makes the solo piano more enjoyable to listen. I’ve always wanted to inspire people who listened to me playing piano and to make them want to play the piano.
I learned some skills that could be beneficial in the future like the harmony. I’ve learned from this experience that my music needs to build its momentum better. Other than that, it was all good and a few errors have been made. This piece really helped me in progressing as I’ve learned how to create an instrumental solo that has a good structure and harmony.
