We have attained a critical point of our plastic use, where sea and land are polluted with plastic waste due to excessive human activities. If we don’t stop our wasteful and ineffective
ways of utilizing plastic products, environmental degradation will advance to decrease our
planet’s livability. Our response to this situation right now plays a significant role in
sustaining Earth’s condition and how it would accommodate the future generations.
During the music lessons a year ago, our class 9D made a music video called 'Too Much Plastic'. It was a discovery and exploration towards the characteristics of a hip-hop in music whilst integrating real-life issues. As a class, we devised certain ideas and themes which may suit our hip-hop music project and everyone decided to raise awareness towards the increasing amount of plastic waste in the local and global environment. We began the creative process by making the lyrics from small groups of 4 which were then recorded and integrated within the music video. Overall, this was an interesting and challenging experience which requires cooperation, real-life consideration and understanding of hip-hop.
