I started this piece with the goal of composing an original instrumental song that can make the audience feel something new. I was trying to create something new which is combining contemporary music with orchestra instruments such as violin and cello. I got inspired by Hans Zimmer who created legendary soundtracks for great blockbusters and this piece is similar which suits short clips or films.

I started by creating the chords in piano. I got the idea of combining contemporary music with orchestra instruments late at night when I started playing out of boredom. Instruments used are Piano, Cello, Violin, Violas and Bass. It started with a C and then goes to G then Am then F then C then G. I aimed to build up the dynamics until the chorus which starts with an Am. This instrumental piece was composed using the software “Cakewalk Bandlab”. The melody of this piece is controlled by the piano and violin.

I’ve learned how to create a solid music structure and also combining instruments to create a good polyphonic texture. I’ve improved from my last composition as my new piece is better synchronized and structured compared to my previous pieces. This piece is my first piece which has an orchestral theme and it sounded well as I finished the composition. I am proud of my work which consisted of almost two weeks of full work on arranging it.
